 According to the latest reports, the 5-door version of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny can be launched with the mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine. The new powertrain may be a 1.4-liter boosterjet unit offered in select Suzuki outside India. It is likely to come with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology.

Maruti Suzuki Jimney is expected to be launched around 2022 in India. It costs Rs 10 lakh. (Ex-showroom). It locks horns with Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.

The India-spec Suzuki Jimney is equipped with a 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine that delivers up to 102 PS and 130 Nm. The 5-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission on offer. The Gimney drives all four wheels and comes with a low-range transfer case.

Maruti Suzuki Jimney will compete with other off-roaders like Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
