 BMW 5 Series Review

Each BMW 5 Series trim gets its own bespoke exterior package. However, even with the most gentle of styling lines, the 5 Series looks athletic. It looks great on the inside as well. The cabin is full of technology and the attention to detail is exemplary. The front seats differ from trim to trim but the rear seat experience is the same across the board. There is a lot of legroom in the back and the seating is very comfortable, but some people can touch the backrest directly.

The 530i petrol's 2.0-liter engine is pleasant but you wouldn't expect it to produce 252 hp. You get a strong sense of power from the 520d's 190hp, 2.0 diesel. Performance is smarter, though, as the Revs Climb gets the engine audible. The 530D's 3.0-liter, straight-six diesel is superb. It delivers smooth, refined and stellar performance. Ride comfort is good and you can make the experience as good as your icht. The 5 Series is great in bends, though there is some softness in the steering. As for the M5, this is the right super sedan.

Exteriors

On the outside, long headlamps merge with a large, vertical kidney grille. The front bumper looks more sportier than the first. However, if the creases in the bonnet were so delicate, the wheel arches would also slowly swell. The side profile includes tight letter lines, giving the new 5-Series a new, bolder design language. Its long wheelbase increases the overall girth of the car, but the limousine-like length is very appealing. At the rear, tail lamps look smooth, the rear bumper has a nice, curved shape, and dual exhausts.

Interior

Up front, the seats are large and supportive. At the back, there is plenty of headroom, legroom and thigh support, but the seats are well cushioned. The dashboard is pricey, and for those looking for class there is also Chrome and wood. As you would expect from the on-road price and segment of the BMW 5 Series, the quality levels are just as high. The three-spoke steering, on the other hand, has a touch of chrome that looks very neat. There are plenty of bits for gesture control and 7-series to 5-series like 'Individual', 'Sport' and 'Comfort' buttons. You can also find a space-saver spare tire in the boot.

Mileage

The BMW 5-Series' ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure is rated 22.48kmpl for the diesel model and 15.56kpl for the petrol model
